1 Year-Old Session: Sam

Check this cute little man out! Sam's first birthday is in 2 weeks, and his parents told me he's already been walking on his own for 2 full months! He was definitely on the move during this session...playing, walking, running, picking up toys, sticks, flowers, and anything else he could get his hands on! I fell in love with his sweet personality, big blue eyes and those two bottom teeth. I'm pretty sure you will, too. :)

Child Session: Stephanie

Most of my blog followers probably don't know that I am the proud aunt of 13 nieces and nephews! In 2009, my plan is to do a blog on each one of them individually. This may be somewhat difficult since 4 of them live in other states, but I guess that just means I'll have to do some traveling to be able to feature them. Lucky me!

This first blog is of my beautiful, 8-year-old niece, Stephanie. She is bubbly, energetic, loving, smart, nurturing (you should see her with the babies in the family...we already know she'll be a great Mom someday!), and FULL OF PERSONALITY! She always keeps us laughing and I think it's safe to say that even if you've never met her, and you're seeing her for the first time in these photos, you'll still see that little sparkle in her eye that lets you know she's up to something. :) (Note: Stephanie is the younger sister of Ashley & Katie! See any similarities?)

Three Families In One Day...

Carolyn (the beautiful lady in first photo) wanted to have a casual session where I could capture her with her family, as well as her two brothers with their families, for a surprise gift for their parents. It was FREEZING out when the day came for our session, but we had fun! They were all good sports...even the kids!

Baby Isaac

Just a quick update since my last belly session! Colleen had her baby over the weekend! His name is Isaac and he is perfect! We didn't have a formal session...these are just a couple quick shots from my visit to see them after they got home from the hospital!

Colleen's 8-Month Belly!

I've known Colleen since we were 12 years old and she is a dear, dear friend of mine. We've lived close to each other. We've lived far from each other. We've been friends through thick and thin, happy and sad...and no matter what...she has always been there for me with godly, wise advice, unprecedented humor, and the example of how to be kind and compassionate in all situations. We now live about 2 hours from each other, but I was more than happy to make the trek to Columbus to capture these special moments of her pregnancy for her. She is going to be the most amazing Mom. And a cute one, too! :) I love you, Colleen!

GRFD: A Different Kind of Session

One of my best friends, Lindsey, is married to Matt, a Grand Rapids fire fighter. For Christmas this year, she wanted to get away from the normal gifts and do something really unique for him. I was in Grand Rapids the first week of December, so Lindsey and I secretly headed to one of the downtown fire stations and I was able to get some detail shots of the fire truck & station. Lindsey ended up ordering 12 x 12 prints and got them matted and framed...Matt should be surprised! Way to be thoughtful, Lindsey.















This last photo of the truck was the last shot of the day. It was taken as the truck was pulling out of the station...the alarm had just gone off and the guys all jumped in the truck, got their gear on, and headed out to fight a fire. I am thankful for brave men who do this job day in and day out!

Emily & Eliza: Child Session

Emily and Eliza are two of my nine, beautiful nieces! It's been so wonderful to be back in Ohio and able to spend more time with them. These photos were taken on a lovely fall day in November, and my brother had raked a HUGE leaf pile for them to jump and play in, so needless to say, the "formal" photo shoot turned into a "jump and get buried and laugh and play and mess-up-your-hair" kind of photo shoot. :) Memories were made...and that's the most important part!

James: Child Session

James is the three-year-old son of my wonderful friend, Katie, who I met back in 8th grade when she moved from Indiana to Ohio. She only stayed at my school for 8th and 9th grade, then transferred to another high school about an hour away. Despite the fact that we were only around each other for 2 school years, we've remained close friends to this day, and our friendship has grown through the different stages of life we've experienced since middle school!
It was an honor to photograph James. He is such a beautiful, happy child, and you can sure tell he loves his Momma! OK, I'll stop blabbing and let you look at the sweet, little man!
